BAVARIA, GERMANY- 7:00am local time on Feb 9 disaster struck. Two trains collided near Bad Aibling in the southern state of Bavaria, Germany. The toll was frightening as there were 11 fatalities and many more injuries.

Eighty-one more people were injured and German police started investigating. They haven’t found any evidence of the crash at this stage and are still looking. All that has been confirmed is that definitely one of the trains was off schedule. Also that there was an auto-braking mechanism that had been installed after another fatal crash in the years before this incident. The mechanism is supposed to automatically brake the trains when two are on the same track and are heading for each other.

“The accident is an enormous shock for us,” said Bernd Rosenbusch head of Train Company that ran the service. It is most likely believed that it was human error that caused the crash, but if one of the drivers did it on purpose he would face 5 years in jail.

No further conformation has been found. If help is needed contacting passengers call Transdev Germany at. 08024-997171.
