Disgust over paint incident

VICTORIA: Olympic Basketball player Liz Cambage shows her disgust at a rio olympic teammate Alice Kunek as she paints herself black as a part of the Melbourne Boomers Silly Sunday.

As a result of Melbourne playing their last game on Saturday the 20th of February, they celebrated their last game with a dress up night (silly sunday). Alice Kunek dressed as her favourite rapper Kanye West and with make-up painted herself black.

She posted a photo with Tess Madgen on Instagram dressed as Kanye but deleted soon after as a future Rio olympic teammate commented on her photo: “Blackface is disgusting, I honestly have no words.” Others including Australian hip hop star Briggs, also showed their disgust at Alice Kunek’s picture.so as an apology Kunek's posted a non make-up photo.

Lauren Jackson has played with both Alice Kunek and Liz Cambage but supported Alice Kunek and knew Alice wasn't trying to offend anyone. “I know it wasn't supposed to offend anyone.” Jackson said.
