The Fifth Wave

Fall into Cassie Sullivan’s whirlpool of action and aliens as the fight for freedom commences. Now a major motion picture the fifth wave has begun. The action packed thriller was taken into hardship, carefully written by the wonderful Rick Vancey. Now a trilogy the New York Times Bestseller, The Fifth Wave is great for ages 12+ proven as the age appropriate word press stated the advertised age level was.

Cassie lives with her family in an ordinary American household. That is when a perfect life turned to the deathly, strange, unreasonable happenings. Then, they took forth.

“Lights out pestilence, surf’s up, silencer, the fifth wave”.

Cassie continued to strive on when the first wave hit, taking out the power and killing the many using transportation. Cassie watched fighter jets fall to the ground as her world did so too. But little did the Sullivan family know that the thousands of tragic deaths from the first wave would be put to shame from the waves to come.

Cassie’s ordinary high school problems turned into keeping her innocent little brother Sam alive.

“The first wave killed thousands, the second put that number to shame.”

The first wave took out all the power and light imaginable and the second wave merged out of the dark destroying anything that stood in its way. Many lost their lives until the third wave, when disease causing blood coming out from the nose, ears and fingertips killed ¾ of the nation. Survive the third wave you are either a warrior or just plain lucky.

By the fourth wave peoples were living each day as if it were their last.

The fifth wave, no-one knows what it is, at least not yet…………

After Cassie’s struggle to survive the third wave she must make choices of life and death of her and her surrounding allies. But one must wonder who is a foe when their appearance is of an allie.

This situation found Cassie caught up many times deciding whether to pull the trigger or not.

“The Others” is one of the many names the futuristic beings were called along with many other tragic names. The Others just happened to be Mr Sullivan’s (Cassie’s father) idea of despicable aliens disguised as any human imaginable.

Once the dark cloud came followed by an unidentified flying object filled with the others and their secretive plans. Foes became friends just as long as they were a human.

‘The fifth wave a book that will make you cry and laugh at the same time’ -Claire Maxwell

‘ I like how Cassie was brave and heroic’ -GEORGIA CARNELL

Suely with these comments about the New York times bestseller (The fifth wave), by now people will realise the potential of the exotic (and now a major motion picture) The fifth wave.

In summary the powerful novel will have you reaching for tissues continues to use her bravery to strive on. I rate this book 4 ½ stars out of 5 as The fifth wave will touch your heart, and remember:

‘don't lose the part of you that makes you human’.
