Currently the price of the book in Australia is $16.99. This is the first book of the Harry Potter series and there are a whopping 76,944 copies! The Harry Potter series has been made into huge popular films. When I read the philosopher's stone I instantly knew that it was going to be a funny amazing adventure for Harry. The book was very descriptive and full of humor.

In this book it's Harry's Potter, who is the main character, first year at Hogwarts and. He meets two friends called Ron and Hermione. Throughout the year, they study lots and learn many new spells. Harry received an invisible cloak as a present and used it to walk around the castle during the night. Afterwards, Harry and his two friends walked around at night and found a room with a three headed hellhound guarding a trapdoor. They tried to find out about what the dog was guarding every day in the library in their free time. It wasn't until long that they found out that it was guarding the philosopher's stone. Additionally, it was brought to their attention that it was also protected by many challenges and that somebody was after the pretious stone. As a result of this They all go after the stone before the other unknown person found it. I won't spoil the end for you.

The best characters in my opinion, is Harry Potter and Ron weasley because they're always sneaking around and are halarious . My favourite part of the book is when Harry Ron and Hermione went to get the Philosophers because I was eager to find out what happened next.

I would recommend this book for people who a looking for a funny adventurous book.

When I read this book I constantly laughed and wanted to know more. This book always builds suspense. This book has a five star rating and is 12+ (rating by scholastic).
