Early in the singles 5th ranked Haley Daws had a massive tantrum smashing bits of her
racquet on the court. Haley has had these tantrums in the past but nothing this bad. She
started crying and yelling abusive language, she ended up winning 6-4 but was not
pleased with that. She held up the doubles for 25 minutes sorting herself out but in the end
she turned out alright and was pleased to have the best stats for Heathmont.
Tara Carson the 2nd player pushed through her knee injury and managed to win all three
sets. She said she played well considering her injury but she found it distracting when her
mum Nadège Carson and older sister Alix Carson where talking very loudly. The player of
the match was Tara Carson because she was very reliable especially when Ed was
nervous in the first doubles. She won 7-5 6-2 6-3 and the other player of the match was
Zach Scott for his efforts in his singles.
The first doubles with Ed, Tara and Zac, Abbie. The first doubles went well for Ed and Tara

straight. Eventually the won a game making it 5-3 about 2 minutes later it the next game it
was 30-40 Yarra Glen had match point they hit a lob and Ed smashed way to hard the ball
hit the back fence on the full but it didn't matter because they played well and ended up
winning 7-5. Zach and Abbie played well considering they were versing Haley Daws the
5th best player in the league but weren't good enough losing 6-2.
The singles included Ed, Tara, Zach and Abbie. Everyone played well and gave it their all.
Ed kicked of first and put the pressure on and won easily 6-0. Tara was next and got up
5-0 and the got a little over confident and lost 2 games but she got her act together and
won 6-2. Zach was a delight to watch and made you sit on the edge of your seat think he
even surprised himself getting 4 games against Hayley the ending score 6-4 Hayley's way.
Abbie tried her hardest but the opposition was just to good she lost 6-0.
The finale two sets of doubles finished in a memorable way. Ed was to play with Saskia
and Lucy was to play with Angus and The other doubles were Tara with Zach and Hayley

and Saskia's doubles were 6-2 Yarra Glen's way Saskia played exceptionally well
considering she hadn't played all day. Tara and Zach won 6-3 they also played very we'll
especially when Zach was very reliable with his forehands.
Overall it was a great result for Yarra Glen. All team members left the court with their head
held high after giving their blood, sweat and tears.
